A Michigan machine that looked impossible — until E.J. Potter built it.
E.J. Potter of Ithaca, Michigan became known as “The Michigan Madman” for his outrageous V8-powered motorcycles and fearless homebuilt engineering. This IMP-POSSIBLE design treats Potter’s early V8 motorcycle experiments like a recovered workshop dossier: aged-cream engraving, faded-red annotations, and period-inspired mechanical callouts.
The artwork celebrates the strange ingenuity of a real Michigan original without turning the machine into fantasy. It is made for people who appreciate mechanical history, backyard engineering, drag-racing lore, and ideas that probably should not have worked — but did.
